What is hot yoga?

Any yoga that is practiced in a room which is maintained at a temperature of 90 to 105˚ F is hot yoga. Bikram yoga is one of the types of this yoga which has been introduced to the world by Bikram Choudhury. The main goal of such a system is to attain flexibility in the body and improve the process of detoxification through excess sweat.

There are 4 types of hot yoga which are as follows:

  • Bikram yoga – It is the most popular of all methods. It is said to have a number of benefits like weight loss, increase in the metabolism rate, better functioning of the lungs and heart, etc. There are 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises which comprise this yoga.
